We strive to provide excellent pediatric dental care to our community. It’s our goal to provide the highest quality of care, which is why we choose the newest technologies and the highest quality dental materials and methods to provide care to our children. Our pediatric dentist, Dr. Alyssa Benitez, uses digital x-rays (radiography) to diagnose and treat your child. Digital x-rays are more accurate, faster, more comfortable and convenient than ever before. Digital x-rays use a digital sensor to take pictures of your child’s teeth compared to the film in traditional x-rays.
Digital x-rays use significantly less radiation than traditional film x-rays and do not require chemicals to develop the film images.

Digital x-rays are important because cavities can form between teeth, not just on the chewing surface. Since teeth are not clear, we need x-rays to see any cavities that form between the teeth because they cannot be seen by examining the mouth. Dr. Alyssa Benitez can view the images on the monitors immediately to help identify cavities between the teeth, infection in the tooth and surrounding bone, fractures to teeth and fillings, cysts and abscesses, developmental abnormalities, and improper tooth root positioning and development.

Digital dental X-rays are critical to providing the highest quality of dental care. Please take a look below to see a comparison of digital dental x-ray exposure to everyday items and tasks.
